Question : Explain Bounty of God :

Answer :

God is bounteous. This sentence is used to state one of the characteristics of God, but how is bounty elaborated?

Bounty is defined in two ways:

1. Forgiveness of sin and its remission, related to the characteristic of God in being bounteous. According to this characteristic, God conceals the sins of creatures and forgives them. Of course, it means that God forgives His right to the creatures. God will forgive the creature for his duties against God. For instance, praying is a duty of the creature, if we do not fulfill our commitment, we have not fulfilled the rights of God and God will forgive us for this. Thought, the right of the people and the right of oneself will remain on us and we shall fulfill the same, so that we are able to pass this stage.

This point should be added that by forgiveness of God, the effects of sin are not removed, but when man attains the higher spiritual ranks, God will conceal all his sins.

Bounty of God comes from his benevolence and his divine nature. Every great one widely grants, due to his own greatness. Every creature who considers himself in a position of attainment will be bounteous against others. God, the absolute attainment, shall forgive the sins.

2. Granting the creatures immeasurable grant and charity. This interpretation is also obvious throughout the life. To every point of the world we look and to every piece of the scene of creation we take a glance, we shall see it in a high rank and the highest place. God is bounteous and this means granting without expectation. God shall grant all the creatures and shall not expect others to reply.

We see that the creatures of God make much ingratitude, but God grants again and forgives again and does not stop His grants. Almighty God enjoys the greatest self-respect and grants and forgives the creatures, without obligation.

Anyway, both meanings of God’s bounty are manifestations of His greatness and probably it is for the same reason that the creatures are courageous in commitment of sin. If a creature knows that God shall not forgive him, will fear committing sin and just as he knows God shall reply to him for his ugly act, he shall obey and shall regret his bad act and shall avoid its commitment for the second time.

Anyway, this is a sign of greatness of God and smallness of the creatures; but, can we reply God for that much grace, and can we avoid being ungrateful?
