The prosperous
birthday of Imam Jafar Sadegh (peace be upon him) on Monday, 17th day
of Rabiolaval, the year: 83 (lunar calendar) the same with birthday of holy
prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny). His sacred name was Jafar, his
family name was Abdollah and he was well known as Saber, Fazel, Taher, Sadegh,
mostly known as
Sadegh.
Ibn Babouyeh
and Ghotb Ravandi have narrated that Hazrat Imam Zeynolabedin was asked who was
the Imam coming after him? He prescribed: “Mohammad Bagher who splits sciences,
so properly”. Then he was asked, who will be the next Imam? He prescribed:
“Jafar, who is named Sadegh at heavens”. He was asked why the Imam was named
Sadegh, while all Imams are honest people and tell truths. He stated: “I was
announced by my father, who was announced by his father, the prophet who
prescribed: “when my son Jafar ibn Mohammad ibn Ali inb Hossein (p.b.u.h.) was
born, he was named Sadegh, because his fifth son will be named Jafar who will
claim falsely that he is Imam and he will be considered by God as
Jafar Kazab
(the false)1.
Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.)
is the first among all the Islamic leaders who decided to make known God to
Muslims through sciences. To make known God to the people, Imam did not suffice
to the decrees of religion, but he tried to reflect to the people the field of
science so that the Muslims know more about the world where they live, and
enjoying knowledge of the new facts of the world2, they might know
better that a knowledgeable creator had created the world and He administers the
world upon fixed regulations. Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.) stated in this respect:
“Those who deny God or doubt existence of God, are
ignorant
and the one who is
aware, shall not deny God, since
science
is not limited.
The more one is
knowledgeable, the more he will know God. Not only the human beings know God,
but also all the creatures of the world know God and worship Him, but, each
group of creatures of the world, know God in a way 3.”
Further, Imam
Sadegh (p.b.u.h.) stated: “Science is the principle of all the good properties
and the origin of all the god works, and whoever does not have science and is
not aware of decrees of the religion, even if has good acts, but his deed is
defective and one who has committed it is gull4 and his act will be
void5.
Whenever he
wanted to introduce prophet of Islam or one of his ancestors, Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.)
would introduce them as an ordinary man and he was never mentioning that they
had divine aspects and never said that they were superior to the ordinary men
and never exaggerated their spiritual privileges6.
Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.)
prescribed: God of the world will be
satisfied
if the people love the prophet & Imams and obey them and will be
furious
if the people deny them. God of the
World has ordered all the people to follow the religion of their prophet and
prescribed: “I, God, do does not accept any obedience or any step, except for
obedience of the prophets, i.e. acceptance of my obedience depends on following
the prophets and bending against me depends on bending against the prophets,
knowledge of my respect and glory, is related to knowledge of glory and rank of
the prophets and knowledge of the fact that what is their rank with me, who is
God. So, all the prophets from Adam (p.b.u.h.) to Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) should be
respected and their ranks should not be compared with those of the ordinary
people7.
Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.)
asked the people: “Why do you bother prophet of God (p.b.u.h.)? the people
asked: “How do we bother him?” he said: “Your actions are presented to him; when
he witnesses a sin, he is bothered, do not bother him, make him happy8.
In Basaer
Aldarajat it has been narrated from Mohammad Ibn Moslem on behalf of Imam Bagher
(p.b.u.h.) who said: “I asked him if the prophet (p.b.u.h.) is also subject to
performance of the decrees. He said: doubtlessly, haven’t you read in verse: 105
of sura: Toubeh as: do what you wish, make haste because God and his prophet
will witness you and your action9.
The above
verse makes the people take care of their actions and do not forget that there
are realities for their good and bad acts which shall by no means keep secret
and for all the human beings there are some guards who make aware of their acts
and find
the reality. The guards include prophet of God and the faithful people,
witnesses10 of actions of the creatures and God will overlook the
people. Thus, both Almighty God and they themselves will observe the actions and
soon, God will reveal the realities to those who committed it, as he prescribed:
You ignored it at this world, now we put out curtains from your heart, so you
are surprised today. (sura: Ghaf/verse: 22)11.
