Hazrat Mousa Ibn Jafar is
the seventh Imam of Shiite. He was born in Safar 7th the year: 128
lunar calendar and was martyred upon order of Haroon Olrashid when he was 55
years old on Rajab 25th the year: 183 lunar calendar.
Hazrat Imam Mousa Kazem
(p.b.u.h.) was a prominent moral man who was enjoying the ultimate levels of
virtue and attainment, science and patience, munificence and prosperity,
knowledge and culture and the other rightful ethical merits.
It has been said that he
was the most generous men of his time and whatever gold saoreh1 and
was gifted to him, he was distributing it among the people of Medina. Describing
his generosity, Sabt Ibn Jozi writes: "I am surprised if someone receives soreh
from Mousa Ibn Jafar (p.b.u.h.) and complains about poverty."
As we know, the pure family
of prophet (p.b.u.h.) were all enjoying just like their honorable grand father,
holy prophet (p.b.u.h. and his progeny) the ethical merits and virtue, but each
of the great men are well known among the people of their own time because of a
characteristic. Our seventh Imam, Hazrat Mousa Ibn Jafar (p.b.u.h.) was known as
KAZEM and BAB-OL HAVAEJ in addition to all the morals we mentioned for him.
Considering the epithet of
Bab-ol Havaej, we will talk later, but he was called Kazem, because he was able
to control his anger and fury to a great extent, so that he was replying well to
anyone who was treating him badly and was beneficent to his enemies so that they
were ashamed. In fact, Imam Kazem later was changing this way his foes to
friends.
The erudite Arbali
narrates: "one of inhabitants of Medina was abusing Mousa Ibn Jafar later
whenever they met and was even offending his grand father. Friends of Imam asked
him to let them punish him, but he prescribed: "Never! Let him go" the man did
not appear for a few days and Imam exited Medina to meet him at his farm. The
man shouted: "Do not enter my farm!" but Imam approached him and said hello and
asked if he was fine. Then Imam stated, smiling: "how much have you spend on
this farm so far?" the man answered: "200 Dinars" Hazrat Mousa Ibn Jafar
(p.b.u.h.) gave him a bag in which there was 300 gold Dinars and said: " you can
both take it and keep your farm and its products." The man stood and kissed
Imam's forehead and asked Imam to forgive him for his offences. "you should
parry evil like this".
