GHADIR is the great feast of Islam,
the attainment of religion, the completion of
grace, race of prophet, festival of announcement of divine satisfaction to Islam. In 10th year of Hijri Ghamari,
after performance of Haj ceremonies, the honorable prophet (peace be
upon him and his progeny), returning from Mecca to Medina (on 18th
day of Zihajeh [lunar calendar]) stopped at a place named Ghadir Khom.
He had been inspired by Almighty God to do a serious act. It was succession of Ali
(p.b.u.h.). “The Prophet! Fulfill what your God has asked you, otherwise, your prophecy has not been fulfilled. Do not be frightened.
Your God will preserve you of damage of the people”.
(Sura: Maedeh. Verse: 7)
Then, prophet prescribed, Am I not more deserved in relation with the faithful and
their paganism? They said: Yes. Then prophet prescribed: “Whoever accepts me as his Lord, shall accept
ALI as his Lord from now on. May God love his friend and consider
foe, his enemy. May God help him and make whoever deserts him, abject and inferior.”
This way, Ali (p.b.u.h.) was elected upon God’s command by prophet of Allah to
success the prophet. A person enjoying endless enormity. Prophet
prescribed: “if the trees are changed to pens, seas to ink, no writer
will be able to count the virtues of Ali.”

In a narration, Ali (p.b.u.h.) stated: “Salman!
God made me his trustee for his people, his successor on the earth and in the cities for his
creatures. No one can describe what he bestowed to me. The pious could
not know it, but, if they know me.” Then he stated: “Salman! We are
secret of God which won’t be concealed. We are light of God which will
not be extinguished, we are the grace of God no one will be able to
praise God for it.”
Ali (p.b.u.h.) was one of the most courageous people of the world. As
acknowledged by any friend and foe, the sacred religion of Islam
reached its peak by his courage and sacrifice. While enjoying courage,
kindness, charity, he was also profiting from knowledge and awareness.
These characteristics are not collected in a person altogether.

It is narrated that Prophet (peace be upon him & his progeny)
prescribed: Ali Ibn Abitaleb is the most scientific of my nation and
he is the most knowledgeable man to judge and to arbitrate all the
differences after me. An interesting sample is that when he was
governing the nation of Islam, a child was born who had two heads and
two chests and the lower part of his body were connected. Ali
(p.b.u.h.) was asked how will this child receive his contribution of
legacy? As one person? Or as two Persons? He answered: “Just wait till
he is slept. Then call him. If both heads are awakened together, he
will receive inheritance share of one person, if one is awakened while
the other is still slept, he will receive shares of two heirs.
Prophet stated: title of file of each faithful person in resurrection day is his love
of Ali Ibn Abitaleb (p.b.u.h.). What was mentioned in the above
narration is the affection upon knowledge by which a person is
prevented to commit sin. Such a love accompanies faith, because when
man is full of passion, he will clean his heart of any selfishness and
makes far from the man, any improper characteristic. Such a love is a
light radiated to heart, strengthening the soul of faith. By this
light, a way is opened toward knowledge of God so that God and Saints
might know him. May God help us make familiar with nobility and
attainment of this day and help us gain vision for this day and make
us respect that day. May God grace us knowledge of that day.
