Congratulations to all the people throughout the world on Birthday of
Imam Hassan (peace be upon him)
Imam Hassan (p.b.u.h.)
was born on Tuesday, 15th day of Ramadan, 3rd year of
Hijrat, in the city of Medina.
On seventh day of his
birthday, Gabriel was present to prophet of God (peace be upon him and his
progeny) and asked him to select a name for the baby and to sacrifice a sheep
for him. In the same day, prophet (p.b.u.h.) whispered prayers in the ears of
Imam Hassan (p.b.u.h.).
The main subjects which
should be considered in the first days of a baby’s birthday are as follows:
1. Naming the Child: Amir Almomenin Ali (p.b.u.h.)
prescribed: One of the rights of the child
towards his father is that the father selects for him a good name.
2. Whispering prayers in the right and the left ears of
the baby: the divine halloo of prayers in the
ears of the baby, the halloo of monotheism and prophecy and Imamate will
affect the soul of the baby and will blossom his raw and pure nature.
3. Sacrificing a Sheep:
This is a life insurance for the baby. It serves as a charity to kill a sheep
and to divide it among the poor. Of course it is better that the parents of
the baby do not eat the meat.
The prophet was naming
Imam Hassan and Imam Hossein (p.b.u.h.) as his sons and they were calling the
prophet, father. The extreme love of the prophet towards the sons was due to
many facts:
-
All the sons of prophet had died and God
granted to him Imam Hassan and Imam Hossein to replace the lost sons.
Therefore, love of every father for his son was manifested in the kind heart
of prophet.
-
They were sons of Hazrat Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.)
the only daughter of prophet who was always respected by the father.
-
The sons were among the Five innocents
prophet gathered them under his cloak, who deserved the high grade of
Imamate and were subject to purification verse and they are loved by God.
-
The most important fact is their all-time
sacrifice and dedication in survival and revival of religion of Mohammad
which should be praised.
In Holy Koran, God
prescribes:
“When God tested Abram in
some ways, and he was admitted, God stated to him: I made you the Imam and the
leader of the people and Abram answered: Elect some Imams out of my
generation. And God replied: My convention (Imamate) will not go to the cruel
ones.”
Taking into consideration
the contents of this pure verse, it will be clear that the rank of Imamate was
granted to Abram in the end of his life. Imamate has many definitions, but
what is in compliance with the meaning of the aforesaid verse is that Imamate
includes fulfillment of religious programs such as government as execution of
religious limits and divine decrees and also education of the souls whether in
appearance or in nature and such a position is higher than the position of
prophecy, because prophecy is only to send God’s words and to notify God’s
commands, but Imamate consists all these in addition to performance of the
decrees and education of the souls whether in appearance or at depth.
Allameh Tabatabaei wrote
as an interpretation of the aforesaid verse: “What is used in this field of
the different verses is that whenever Imamate is named, guidance follows in
interpretation. For instance in the story of Abram (p.b.u.h.) God prescribes:
“We granted to Abram Isaac and Jacob and elected
them all as the deserved.” (sura: Abram, verse:
72)
As it is observed,
guidance has been mentioned after Imamate as an explanation to it and it has
then ordered it. it shows that the rank of Imamate is the rank of a special
guidance, containing guidance to God’s order and is an inner guardianship on
conducts of the people combined with guidance. Of course, guidance means
attainment of the desired wish, i.e. reaching the destination, not only a
guidance and presentation of the path which is the act of prophets, but it is
the act of all the faithful persons who invite the people to God by
presenting to them preaches.
Another subject which
should be taken into consideration is that Almighty God stated the reasons for
granting the rank of Imamate as follows:
“ Since they waited and
they were faithful to our verses, so the reason for its granting was being
patient in the path of God, an absolute patience including all the
examinations and reaching the position of faith. As it was prescribed
considering Abram: “And this way, we showed to
Abram the nature of the skies and the land to be a faithful person”.
(Sura: Anaam, verse: 75) So, Imam should hold the place of faith and should
be aware of the heaven.
Moreover, one can enjoy
high rank of Imamate, if he is prosperous by nature. Because, if he is not
prosperous in nature and some times outrages, so he will not enjoy such a
position and will be in need of guidance of the other person and this will not
be adaptable with guidance.
The following subjects
are clarified by the above-mentioned facts:
-
Imamate is a contract of God and is the
highest position granted by God.
-
This position is granted through a series of
worthiness.
-
Such worthiness shall be clear in several
stages, in science, in faith, in practice, the high fundamentals of morals
which are observed in the history of life of Abram (p.b.u.h.)
-
Such a position shall be determined by
Almighty God, because, no one is aware of such worthiness except God.
-
Inhumanity and injury of others do not only
mean inhumanity towards the other people, but oppression against justice
means using of something in another place.
In a narration by
Abdollah Ibn Masoud narrated from holy prophet (p.b.u.h.), when God prescribes
my convention will not go to the inhuman/tyrants, Abram (p.b.u.h.) asks: “Oh!
God who is the person out of my generation, to whom your bonds will not go?”
God prescribed: Anyone who prostrates others except Me, we will not elect him
as Imam or the leader and he will not be qualified for being an Imam.
Therefore, to prove their
deservedness for Imamate, all Imams relied on this verse, after Imam Ali (p.b.u.h.),
because the others were pagans. Regarding the points having been mentioned,
Imam should like the prophet be elected by God and be notified to the people.
Further, Imamate of Ali (p.b.u.h.) in Ghadir Khom was upon command of God by
the inspired to prophet, notified by him to the people, when Imam Ali was
elected to replace the last prophet of God. The other Imams were elected by
the previous Imams. In this way, Imamate of Hazrat Mojtaba (p.b.u.h.) by God
was notified by his great father, when he was martyred. In this case, there
are many verses and narrations, for instance the following is mentioned:
As narrated by the late Kalini in Osoul Kafi, Imam
Bagher (p.b.u.h.) stated: “Amir Almomenin (p.b.u.h.) stated in his will to
Imam Hassan (p.b.u.h.) and Imam Hossein (p.b.u.h.) and Mohammad Hanafieh
witnessed the fact together with all the sons and chiefs of Shiite and his
family. Then Ali (p.b.u.h.) delivered to him the book and the weapon (the
deposit of Imamate) and stated: “My son! Prophet
of God ordered me to suggest to you in my will and to trust with you my books
and my weapon, just as prophet of God suggested to me in his will and trusted
with me his books and his weapon and ordered me to instruct to you to give it
to your brother, Hossein, when you are going to die.”
