He is
awakened fearfully. His eyes are widened. He searches for a lighted
point in the darkness. He looks around. There is no one in his room,
but his wife, and his son. He advances half-raised. His son is
healthy and breathes softly. The wide bones of his chest move softly
by every breathe and then it goes back to is previous status. His
face is calm, his calmness daggers heart of the father, he thinks:
How may I disturb his peace?
He
looks at his wife. She has also calmly slept. He thinks: “ How may I
warn her? Will she be disturbed just like me?” The father is
helpless. This is the third time he has had such a dream to sacrifice
his son upon God’s order. A father who has always prayed: “Almighty
God! You are aware that Islmail is the only heritage of my prophecy.
Shelter him with yourself for continuation of my prophesy and my
mission.!” And now, he was ordered to sacrifice such a son.
Abram
is entangled with his human astonishment and does not know how to
relate this case to divine attention. He stands up and walks towards
his father. He puts slowly on his son’s shoulders his hand and his son
rolls a little and opens his eyes: “What has happened to you, father?”
Abram says slowly: “stand up! I should let you know about a secret and
I demand your answer.”
A few
minutes later, two men have stood their back to the house, looking at
Mecca Shrine, beholding the dawn. A young man, with straight stature,
firm, a right neck, his body wrapped up, another man, a little bent,
standing beside him, firmly. At the door of the house, a woman
standing, firm. By her pervasive looks, she breaks the mountain, what
about Satan! Mother comes near, brushes his son’s hairs and farewells
to him. The father moves towards Mana. They begin a lighted ending and
reach the end, which a sad waiting, wishing for approaching God. They
shall make a sacrifice to approach God, otherwise, it shall not be
proper and correct to sacrifice something.
Eid
Ghorban
is a great celebration. All Muslims consider it dear and the
pilgrims attend the place after three days of meditations and
sacrifice, praying, to present their souls to the Lord, remembering
sacrifice of Ismail, to be awarded by approach to God. During a few
days, the pilgrims stay at desert, the nights, the days and perform
Rami1, throwing stone on the statue of Satan several times.
They fight with warmth, with difficult circumstances and stay deprived
of welfare. They keep far from themselves, any manifestation of
materialistic life such as hairs, nails. They wear dress of eternity,
and keep distance with more than 20 signs of dependence upon the world
within three days by their peace and humbleness and trust the whole of
their lives against freedom of such a few days.
After
sacrificing and terminating this Hijrat, they come back to Mecca to
turn around God’s house and to perform the ceremonies between Safa and
Marva, respecting Abram, and to pray behind Abram’s Tomb. All this
endeavors aims at one goal:
obedience of God.
Does God accept the
obedience as a mark of being a bondage to God? If so, we should change
to another man after we perform pilgrimage. We should sacrifice our
selves to reach self-confidence and our heart’s peace. Will we reach
such a rank?
Indeed!
Eid Ghorban is sacrifice of one’s Ismail for approaching God
Have we found our own Abram? Have we sacrificed him? Have we
approached God? If so, we shall witness in Eid Ghorban the rise of a
new sun, birthday of a new day. We hope we will witness the last Eid
Ghorban, waiting for Mahdi son of Fatemeh, whose government is really
formed only by sacrifice of human souls of all the people waiting for
him.
