Congratulations for
the sacred birthday of Imam Hassan Askari
(peace be upon him).
NECESSITY OF INFALIBILITY
OF PROPHETS & IMAMS PEACE BE UPON THEM
“An this way, We ordered
our soul (the great angel) to come to you to inspire you and before you were
inspired you did not know what was the Book of God and you did not understand
what was the path of faith and religion, but We made the Book and Religion of
God the light of comprehension and knowledge and will guide with the same light
whomever of our creatures We wanted. And now, you will guide the people to the
path of God.”
Sura: Shora, verse: 52
DIVINE CHARACTERSITCS OF
MAN
There are divine
characteristics in man, such as brevity, generosity, chastity, etc. and if man
use them on time, to the definite amount, necessary, it will be correct and
suitable and if he exceeds his limits and apply them diversely, it will be
harmful and wrong. There are some characteristics quite contrary which means
going to the extremities. For example, brevity is a very nice habit, a mean
borer, a state of equability between two improper borders of cowardice and
audacity.
If there is shortage of
brevity, it is cowardice and fear, which are evil characteristics. If there is
excess of brevity, it is daring, which is wrong. Man should keep this
characteristics balanced. Do not let it fall to reach cowardice or to go up to
reach daring.
Chastity is a very good
characteristic. If it is weaker than its proper limit, it will reach the state
of torpid, dull, languishing which is bad and improper. If it is stronger than
its limit, it will reach daring and divulgence which is evil and reprehensible.
Man should take care of himself, not to fall, not to reach the stage of
divulgence, where the good habit will die and an improper state appears in man
and man’s life will change into a rotten life.
But, the force existing in
man, through which he keeps balance among the characteristics, is intelligence.
And because of being aware of the interests and the loss and due to enjoying the
benefits and bothering the harm of the objects, he will chain the evil
characteristics and will avoid their movement and their appearance and as long
as intelligence performs its job and fulfills its duties which is ordering such
powers, none of them will exceed their borders and will emerge, but, since,
among all the people, man – with no exception- even in the pious and
knowledgeable men- the origin and roots of such characteristics do not remove,
but the seeds will stay at the hearts, waiting for proper opportunities and
fields to grow, when such a field is found and time is suitable for growth, they
will immediately attack to tread the queen of piety, knowledge, and foresight,
to rise in man.
Anyhow, if man is content
to this limit of knowledge and piety, to avoid crime and fine only for his
external benefits, if he can not destroy the principle of corruption in himself
and can not uproot bad characteristics such as greed, avarice, cowardice,
daring, niggardliness, dissipation, etc. he has not yet reached the rank of a
real man. He is obedient and surrounds like an animal which is chained, and when
he is free, he will do every act.
If he avoids lie, selling
underweight, iniquity, adultery, etc when he is awake, when he sleeps and there
is no more any external benefit, such evil characteristics will rise to create a
scene of obscenity. For instance, he dreams adultery, expediency, ambition,
outrage, crime and when he gets up, he is much surprised, thinking what is the
relation of such dreams with him, being unaware of the fact that the roots and
origins of corruptions still lie inside himself, hiding themselves among the
angels of his soul to emerge at a proper time to attain its destiny.
The prophets and Imams
(peace be upon them), the pious men approaching Almighty God will totally empty
their hearts of all evil characteristics and corruptions and remove the seeds
from the farm of their hearts. Owing to graces of God they have received a type
of science and knowledge and enjoying the knowledge there will remain no
opportunity for the evil acts. Such a science and foresight will burn
immediately the evil characteristics and will remove them totally. The will
destroy the principle of greed, avarice, niggardliness, and during the whole
term of their lives, even once, even at the highest proper fields, such an evil
act will not appear to them. In this way, such a property and substance of the
heart, existing in such people, will not let them even dream of sin or imaging
sin when they awake.
For the pious men
approaching God, the sin will not emerge even in a moment. If they live lonely
for many years and if there is possibility of sin at the highest and the most
proper points, even if no man would be aware of it, if everything has been
arranged for sin, they shall not by any means think about sin and such people
have only been excluded of general emergence of instincts. The science God has
bestowed to them for their efforts and for resisting in the path of God, what
they have obtained for the
light at their hearts, is
not of the same type of the ordinary sciences, but it is a special science with
a special quality, having been interpreted at holy Koran as the
soul of God.
“We also inspired you our
order and before that you have not been aware of truth of the Book and the
Secrets of the World Created and of the Divine Knowledge, We placed this soul as
a light to guide by which whomever of our deserved creatures we wish.”
(Sura: Shora, verse:
52)
This light is the same as
soul of God, having entered the heart of man to alter the state of heart. It
will keep man of whatever except God and will join him to God and this is the
rank of piety and infallibility of the prophets and the pious Imams.
Here it should be known the
fact that in such a rank,
self is not totally destroyed, but it is quite obedient and will find no
opportunity to disobey and to violate.
At this state, the people near to God find the best capital from God and the
dearest divine grace, because here self is certain and deserves looking towards
the tomb of God.
Use
of Infallibility of pious people approaching God from viewpoint of three verses
of Koran:
“God has guided them, the
guidance of God for His special creatures, whom He wants to guide.”
Sura: Anam, verse: 89
After a verse, He
prescribes:
“They are the people, who
have been guided by Almighty God and you should guide them too.”
Sura: Anam, verse: 91
These two verses are used
to show that God has guided the prophets. Again He prescribes:
“One whom God deviates and
does not bestow to him, His graces, shall find no one to guide him and one who
is guided by God, shall find no one to deviate him.”
Sura: Zamar, verse:
36
He prescribes:
Whomever is guided by God, has found the correct path.”
Sura: Kahf, verse: 17
These two verses are used
to show that those who are guided by God have found the correct path and no
satanic provoke will effect them. If all the world are gathered, might not
deviate them or impact on their will, sciences, options, or shake them.
On the other part, He
prescribes:
“Thou! Son of Adam! Did not
I ask you not to follow Satan, not to worship him? He is your obvious enemy.
Follow Me. Worship Me. This is the direct path. Indeed, Satan has deviated many
people, many tribes. Don’t you think? “
(Sura: Yasin, verses: 60-62)
In this verse, following
Satan has been interpreted as deviation and fall. Thus, as the aforesaid verses
indicate, God guided the prophets, and whomever is guided by God, will not be
deviated or corrupted by anyone. According to this verse, deviation means
following Satan, being sinful, considering anything not true, being influenced
by evil self. Since, no one will misguide the prophets, thus, there is for them
no Satanic excitation, no self stimulation, no sin, no guilt and this is the
meaning of
infallibility.
Thus, these three sets of
Koran verses clearly prove guidance to God’s path.
