Interpretation of Sura Fateha Alketab at Prayers.
Defining the
phrase:
In the Name of God, Imam Reza (peace be upon him)
prescribed: I marked myself by a sizzle of God, which is the sign1
of worship.” (so that all know whom slave, I am.” Some one asked:
what is the sizzle?” He replied: “it is the mark.” 2.
The mystics say:
“Being emerged by name of Almighty God, the Merciful.”3
Almighty God commenced Holy Koran with the his own name,
which is the
dearest name, so that what is in his word, is related to His own name
and is a civility the creatures learn and the creatures are educated
to begin their actions, speeches, behaviors with that name, so that
their actions are divine. Prophet of God (peace be upon him and his
progeny) prescribed: “whichever of the affairs which is significant,
if it does not commence in the name of God, it will be defected and
will not be conclude. 4”
Word of God has
commenced with: In the Name of God. The word is a verb, is an action
so it is unified. Therefore, the word of God has a unified meaning
from the beginning to the end which is the unit meaning with a unit
purpose which is
only guidance of the creatures. Thus, in fact
guidance of the creatures has commenced in the name of God. God, Who
is the origin of everyone. While this phrase has been repeated in the
beginning of every sura, and since each sura has a special purpose and
brings a special meaning, so the next purpose will begin with the next
In the Name of God of the next sura.
In Sura: Hamd, In
the Name of God concerns a purpose for this sura which is praising
God; not only it is a language, but also it is a statement of slavery,
showing the slavery and requesting for assistance and guidance. So, it
is a word uttered by God on behalf of His creatures,
to teach to his
creatures, civility in statement of slavery,
to praise God and to
state slavery. 5
It has been
narrated in the book: Oyoun by Imam Reza (p.b.u.h.) and from his great
ancestors and from Amir Almomenin (p.b.u.h.) that he prescribed: “ I
heard from prophet of God (p.b.u.h.) who prescribed: Almighty God
prescribed: I divided Fateheh Ketab between myself and my creature,
half of it is mine and the other half belongs to my creature and I
will grant to my creature whatever he wishes for. As it has been
mentioned in the prophet’s narration, from the beginning of sura to
We Only Worship You
belongs to God and from
We Only Worship You and We
Only Ask you to Help us
is joint between God and His Creature and the
rest of sura belongs to the creature.7 When a creature
says: In the Name of
God,
Almighty God prescribes: My creature began his word in My Name, so I
shall help him fulfill his affairs and grant to him. When the creature
says:
praise is for God of the World,
God says: my creature praised me and acknowledged that I have
granted to him what he has and I have kept far from him the
calamities, so I ask the angles to witness that I have increased the
graces in the world and in the afterlife, so I will keep far from him
the afterlife calamities; just as I kept from him the world’s
calamities.
When the creature
says:
The Beneficent, the Merciful,
Almighty God says: my creature witnessed that I am beneficent and
merciful, so I ask you to witness that I will increase his share of my
graces and kindness and will augment his share of my graces. When the
creature says:
the owner of the day of punishment,
Almighty God prescribes: Witness that just as my creature acknowledged
that I am the owner of the day of punishment, I shall facilitate to
him the day of calculations, will accept his excellences and will
disregard his sins. When the creature says:
We Only Praise You,
Almighty God will prescribe: my creature is right and he truly
worshiped me, so I ask you witness that I will pay for his worship, so
that whoever is deviated from the path of worship, feels jealous.
When the creature
says:
and We Ask You to Help Us, Almighty God prescribes: My creature
asked me to help him and took shelter to me, so I ask you to witness
that I will help him and I will assist him in his troubles. When the
creature says:
Guide me to the Direct Path,
till the end of sura,
Almighty God prescribes: I shall fulfill all that and whatever he asks
in addition to it. I have fulfilled all his wishes and will secure him
of what he fears. 8
In fact, this
sura has been sent for worship of God and there is no other sura in
Holy Koran like that, because, firstly, from the beginning to the end
of the sura are words of God on behalf of his creature and considers
what his creature says when is worshipping Him as His creature.
Secondly, the sura is divided into two parts, half of which belongs to
God and the other half to the creature. Thirdly, this sura includes
all the knowledge of Koran despite it is very short and it includes
all the Koranic instructions such as monotheism, prophecy,
resurrection, and guidance of creatures to what will be for their
benefits in the world and in the afterlife.9 it points in
the shortest words with the clearest expression 10.
Almighty God,
direct us to the direct path of humanity and keep us away from
ignorance, selfishness, arrogance, let us enter the circle of
approaching you, keep far from our foresight the dark veils, so that
we join the true ascent of prayers of those who need God.11
