IN THE NAME OF GOD

Condolence on all the Muslims of the World on the occasion of holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his progeny) passing away

 The last Flames of Life:

Medina was filled with anxiety and presentiment. Prophet’s friends had been gathered around his home, with the eyes filled with tears, to be aware of the last news about his disease. It was the last hours of the life of prophet (p.b.u.h.). The only souvenir of prophet, his daughter, Fatemeh (peace be upon her) had been sitting at his bed, gazing at his bright face, whispering with her teary eyes the pomes having been composed by Aboutaleb about the prophet: “The bright face for respect of which, the clouds are asked to rain, the person who is a shelter for the orphans and a guard for the widowed.”  

At this time, prophet opened his eyes and prescribed: “You’d better read this verse, instead of that poem: Mohammad is only a prophet of God, before whom there had been other prophets who passed away. Will you go back to your ignorance, if he dies or if he is martyred? Indeed, whomever is apostle, shall not harm God and shall only lose, himself and whoever thanks God and stays faithful in Islam, shall enjoy God’s satisfaction and His graces and awards.” 1

This verse reproaches those who escaped when in war of Ohod, they were defeated by the enemy, and left the prophet. This verse blames those who escaped from the front. They said: “We escaped, when we heard that you were murdered and our days were distraught, and we were frightened.” 2

While, Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) was commissioned merely by God. He was neither doing anything for himself, or for the world. All the affairs of the world shall be merely done by God. The religion is also the religion of God and shall survive upon survival of God. So, it is meaningless that Muslims are faithful provided that prophet is alive! So that if prophet is died or martyred, the Muslims would leave religion of God and would be ignored again.3 

Whoever thinks a little about war of Ohod, and studies the act of the soldiers, shall figure it out that they were the friends of prophet and the devotees, who leaved him with the enemy and escaped and at last converse his religion after him. They took action against will and intention of prophet and against instruction of God and elected a caliph at their own option. They did not let goodness govern!4

Termination of prophecy would agree with philosophy of the prophets, if the last divine religion would reply to all the needs of human beings and its survival would be guaranteed till the end of the world. Islam, might be considered as a complete religion and might respond to all the needs of all the men to the end of the world, if within the religion, there would be a path to provide for necessary requirements of the society and the same path was nothing but election of a deserved successor for holy prophet (p.b.u.h.).5

Almighty God completed His words to the men. Prophet elected in Hajatol Veda, Imam Ali (p.b.u.h.) as the leader of all the faithful men. But, due to His justice and equanimity, God leaves man free to fulfill his duties and to select his way. Either Imamate of Ali (p.b.u.h.) or….?
