Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) was born near Medina in a region named Sarya in the year 212 Hijri Ghamari (Lunar Calendar). His great father, Imam Javad (p.b.u.h.) and his great mother was a pious woman named Ome Valad, known as Samaneh.

Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) prescribed considering his mother: "My mother is a mystic woman and shall reside in paradise and Satan shall never approach her, because God is protecting her." ¹

During his life of 42 years, Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) took high actions for propagation of religion of Islam and jurisprudence of Shiite. He had promoted to respectful morals, knowledge, information, supremacy, policy, education, proper for his era, reflecting the realities at horizon of history of differences between the jurists at the different sects, enjoying elevation of soul. For his spiritual attractions, the people of nearby cities were coming to meet Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) and Imam was explaining and interpreting to them the correct jurisprudence of Shiite.

Since, Abbasi dynasty was always jealous to the family of prophet, Motevakel, the time Caliph, sent one of his commanders, named: Harsameh to Medina to take Imam to Samereh, fearing that Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) might disagree with him and his government and Alavian might rebel against him, following Imam.

Immigration of Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) from Hijaz (Medina) to Iraq (Samera) was not for the benefit of Motevakel, but it made the lovers and companions of Imam and Prophet traveling in groups from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, India, Africa,…. To Samera to meet Imam and to profit from his divine knowledge.

Motevakel knew that travel of Shiite and lovers of family of prophet will be dangerous for him, so he imprisoned Imam in the location of military army, named: ASGAR, so that he could completely watch Imam. Therefore, Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) and his son, Imam Hassan (p.b.u.h.) were known as Asgari.

Despite such a difficult circumstances Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.), being under supervision and limited by sever control of the government, was investigating the affairs of the people and was not unaware of Shiite.  By education of excellent students throughout the Islamic countries, he paved the way for the companions of the Imam who were going after him, i.e. Imam Hassan Asgari (p.b.u.h.) and absence of the last Imam, i.e. Mahdi (May God hasten His glad Advent).

Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) was creating the mental and spiritual background for absence of Imam of the Time (May God hasten His glad Advent) and after him, his honorable son, Imam Hassan Asgari took the same path and were investigating the affairs of the people at the different areas through their devoted companions, so that lack of physical presence of Imam Mahdi (May God hasten His glad Advent) would not seem strange to the people.

In fact, Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) distributed the seeds for the short absence of Imam of Time and his son, Imam Hassan Asgari (p.b.u.h.) irrigated the same seeds so that , they would grow.

It is worth-mentioning that it took three centuries so that 12 successors of prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) as successors of Almighty God in this world, invited humanity to the true religion and virtue and described to the world the real superiority. The result of their endeavors was that thousands of the people throughout the world could know Islam and could witness virtues of Moslems and were attracted to this divine religion and converted to this sacred pure religion.

A meaningful speech of Imam Hadi: "To one who bestows to you his friendship, well-wishing, and comment, you should give your following, abidance and accept him."
