MARTYRDOM OF IMAM
JAVAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM)
Imam Mohammad Taghi , the ninth star at the sky of Imamat was born in
the year : 195th Hijri Ghamari and was martyred in the year
: 220 in
Medina. The ninth Imam, though he was very young when he lost his
respectful father and become Imam when he was very young , was unique
considering his attainments and virtues. It has been narrated that in
a meeting , 30000/- difficult problems were asked Imam and they
received complete replies out of that mine of science. Ali Ibn Asbat
Mesri says : "when I met Imam Javad (p.b.u.h.) while he was an infant
, I carefully looked at him so that I could describe him to the people
of Egypt. At this time , Imam sat down and prescribed : Ali ! God has
announced the ultimate order in Imamat just like in prophecy and
prescribed :
"We elected John as a prophet , when he was quite young and when he was
strong and reached the age of 40 , we completed his prophecy."1
Thus , God might grant to someone the rank and philosophy to some one
when he is quite young and he might reach this rank when he is 40
years old.
He was asked , what would he say considering someone who will hunt when
he is performing pilgrim's grab? Imam stated : This problem can be
considered from abundant respects : A case is whether he has been out
of the sanctum or not? Was he aware of it or not? Did he make hunting
on purpose or inadvertently? Was he enslaved , or did it as a free man
? was he a minor child or a grown up man? Had he down it for the first
time or the second time ? did he hunt a bird or some other animal? Was
it small or big? Did he regret or he intends to repeat it? Did he make
hunting at night or at day? Was he performing the ceremonies of
obligatory pilgrim's grab or the voluntary one?2
When this question was asked Imam was nine years old and he discussed
the case so wisely.
Motasam sent to Om-ol Fazl , Imam's wife , some poison and she mixed
grapes with the poison and gave it to Imam when he was eating food.
Imam felt the poison in his body and stated : you will contact a
disaster which can not be treated and then he passed away.3
One of the valuable speeches of Imam is that : "If there is three things
in a person , he won't regret : not being hasty , consulting whit the
proper people , relying on Almighty God in performance of works."4
