In The Name Of God

WE CONDOLE ALL THE SHIITE OF THE WORLD ON THE OCCASION OF MARTYRDOM OF IMAM HASSAN ASKARI PEACE BE UPON HIM

The 11th star of Imamate emerged at the horizon of sky of prophecy in Medina and fell at Samereh and with his short life, remained for us clear pages of his life, high effects of which shall remain forever.

The sacred name of him is Hassan and he is well known as Abou Mohammad, Zaki, Alsamet, Alhadi, Alrafigh, Alnaghi, Alasgari. 28 years of his life looked like life of a flower, having been always under supervision and care of Abbasi Caliphs and since at the time of ruling of Motevakel, Samera was selected as the center of government, Imam Asgari (peace be upon him) was transferred from Madina to Samera and he dwelled among the military corps so that they would watch him continuously and for the same reason, he was called Asgari.

Imam Hassan Asgari (p.b.u.h.) was martyred upon instruction of Motamed Abbasi on Friday 8th day of Rabi Alaval, the year: 260 (lunar calendar) when he was praying in the morning.

The 11th Imam presented during his imamate high instructions of Koran and religion of Islam which renewed enormity of Islam and strengthened the religion. In the middle of 3rd century, when this scientific movement appeared, the great philosophers such as Isaac Kandi and Abounasr Farabi were living and were enjoying the graces of existence of Imam (p.b.u.h.). This scientific movement created at jurisprudence and principles of religion, a new movement which awakened Islamic nation  suddenly and scientific and reminded the people of scientific period of era of Mamoun and Haroon up to the period of instructions of Amir Almomenin and let the people understand the reason of inspiration of Koran and the books and made clear some realities in the scientific researches together with the Christian & Jewish connoisseurs and philosophers and men of thought.

Imam Hassan Asgari (p.b.u.h.) prescribed:

“Humility is a grace which is not envied.” Humility is modesty which does not let man consider himself superior to others and requires such a deed and speech which respect others.

Whoever feels humble against God, God will bestow to him greatness and dignity. The humble people have faces the angels of skies and the people well-informed know them well. God will accept a worship which is humble. In humility there lies a reality which only the slaves of God will comprehend.

Almighty God prescribes: Humbly extend the wings of your graces to all your followers.  Sura: Shoara, verse: 215

Humility is a farm where the trees of reverence, modesty, fear, and shame grow and doubtlessly all the trees belong to the same farm and the real honor is for a man who is humble to God.

There lie in praying many secrets and for the same secrets, praying has been named principle of religion. From among its secrets, we can name humility which is manifested by rising, genuflection, prostration, because the Arabs did not like to bend and even if some one horsewhip would fall, he would not bend to take it on the earth or if his shoe strings were opened, he would not bend to tie them. For the same reason, God ordered them to perform genuflection and prostration.

The criteria for recognition of pride and arrogance in self:

  1. If you are discussing an issue with a friend, the moment of test is when the party tells a truth, if it is difficult to accept it and to acknowledge it, it is a sign of pride and feeling superior, so one should be pious, be aware of inside himself, the danger of his actions and consequences, making the soul take some actions such as acknowledgement of the truth, praising, worshiping, acknowledgement of one's inabilities, thanking the person for his kindness, etc. which are difficult for the soul to take.
  2. It is good thing to respect the friends and colleagues at different sessions and meetings and to sit down at lower places than them. If it is difficult to do, it shows that we are arrogant, so we should make such things so that it is easy to us.
  3. If replying to the invitation of the poor is difficult, if it is difficult to do something for the friends and relatives, it is pride.
  4. If one's self does not let him to carry the things he and his family need to market and back home by himself and in his own hands, it shows his proud.
  5. One should not fear wearing old clothes, avoiding to wear old clothes in front of the people is a type of hypocrisy and if he feels the same at privacy, it is a sign of arrogance.

To reach the characteristics of humility, man should make efforts in two scientific and practical ways. The scientific way is that man should think, so that his heart is awakened, i.e. he should think that he was a sperm in the beginning, something valueless, and in the end he will grew to corpse and the people will be bothered by his smelling and will escape him.

Whoever enjoys more science, whose soul is greater and whose face is happier, is more humble. Prophet of God was more humble to God's creatures than everyone else. He did not like that the friends stand up to respect him. When he entered a meeting, he was sitting at the lower part. He was helping the poor by his own hands and was helping the members of his family in doing the house chores.  He was milking the sheep himself, was sewing his own dress and shoes and was milling wheat and barley accompanied by his servant to make bread. He was sitting with the poor, eating food with them. So, humility is a child of science and knowledge, a characteristic of divine prophets.

But the practical way is got by taking care of one's actions. To attain it, one should defeat his carnal soul and Satan and the way to salvation is got by acting contrary with one's desires. If your soul asks you to select the upper part of the meeting, you should take action against it. If it escapes sitting with the poor, you should sit and eat with the poor and be sure that whoever is humble for God's sake, Almighty God shall promote his rank.

So, one should fight with his soul to be purified. It is the time when soul is corrected. Purification and improvement of soul is easy in this world, but it will be difficult in afterlife. So, as long as one is young, he should improve himself. No tools will be more suitable for him in his transfer to the other world, but the soul's attainment, the heart's piety, pious acts and purity of inside.
