Imam Hadi
commenced his Imamate in month: Zihajeh, Year: 212 and continued for
about 33 years.
He was poisoned
by a collusion on the part of Motaz Abbasi and was martyred in 3rd
Rajab, year: 245 Hijri Ghamari (Lunar Calendar).
One the important
works of Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) which was also very important for the
other Imams was protection of thought and culture of Shiite and
prevention of deviations made by the opponents. Of course it required
education of distinguished student and formation of seminary and
instruction of jurisprudence and original Islamic beliefs which was
established in the era of Imam Bagher and Imam Sadegh in a wide scope
and the other Imams elaborated and followed it even in the very
difficult circumstances.
Along the same
path, Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) took great actions and educated
distinguished students such as Hazrat Abdolazim Hassani, Kheyran
Alkhadem, Ibn Sakit Ahwazi, Abouhashem Jafari, Hossein Ibn Mohammad
Madaeni, Jafar Ibn Soheil, Esmaeil Ibn Mehran, ….
In the era of
Imams, specially during dynasty of Bani Abbas, specially in the era of
Imamate of Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) different schools were created and
consequently, conflict of beliefs brought about hard scenes. The
mysterious hands of the Caliph were approving other schools and
encouraging them to struggle against Shiite to pale Shiite schools.
Finally, an important part of instructions of Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.) and
his attempts were spent on fighting with such schools and groups.
The advocates of
determinism on one part, vaghefieh group who did not accept after Imam
Kazem (p.b.u.h.) imamate of the others and believed that Imam Kazem (p.b.u.h.)
was alive, on the other part and also Soufieh (mystics) Group and
Gholat each had innovated programs for themselves.
Considering a
group of mystics who was gathered in Masjed-ol Nabi, Imam Hadi (p.b.u.h.)
repeated chant of “there is no God but Allah” and prescribed:
