May greetings of God go to
Mohammad and his family and may He assist me obtain the most complete grades of
faith and make my faith the best and lead my intentions and acts to the best
acts1.
Imam Sajjad (p.b.u.h.)
prescribed:
Being content to the undesirable destination is one of the highest grades of
faith2.
In the sacred praying,
Makarm Alakhlagh is one of the ten sacred morals hazrat Sajjad (p.b.u.h.) asks
from Almighty God and this is
the highest rank of faith3.
Faith has three stages. Elm
Alyaghin, Ein Alyaghin, Hagh Alyaghin.
Elm Alyaghin
is knowledge of the object by being certain and soul’s being faithful without
any doubt.
Ein Alyaghin
is observation of the object by one’s eyes or feeling it at one’s heart. The
relation of ein alyaghin with elm alyaghin is like seeing something than hearing
it.
Hagh alyaghin
is higher than that and this is the faith obtained by finding reality of the
object.
The philosophers and
jurists have mentioned: “Elm alyaghin is like when we presume that some one has
not observed the fire and has not found out its reality, but he has just heard
that there is in the world a phenomenon which burns and warms and makes lighted,
creates smoke and is named Fire. Just as he sees smoke, even out of a far
distance, he believes that there is fire in that place; even if he does not know
what is fire.
Ein alyaghin is when some
one sees fire and id warmed by its heat and enjoys its light. This is very
different with some one who has just heard about fire and has made certain that
there is in the world a phenomenon named fire, while he has not experienced its
specifications and has not enjoyed its benefits and has not used it and he has
just sufficed knowing the meaning of fire.
Hagh alyaghin is when the
person is fired and is burned by fire, of whom only a fired mass has remained,
like a piece of iron having been molten. At this case, other than a piece of
iron, nothing else is observed in which the specifications of fire might be
seen. But, if it is far from fire for an hour, it will go back immediately to
its initial status, i.e. being dark, cold, and black4.
In fact, the first time
which is the time of knowledge, might be philosophy of creation of man. Hazrat
Davoud (p.b.u.h.) stated: “My God! Why did you create the men?” God prescribed:
“I have been a hidden treasure, I wanted to be known. Thus, I created the people
to find the knowledge”. God also prescribes in Koran:
“I did not create man and faun, except for the purpose that they worship.
Creation aims at knowledge and is resulted in slavery.”
(sura: Alzariat/verse: 56)
Imam Reza (p.b.u.h.)
stated: “Faith is a grade which is higher than Islam and piety is a grade that
is higher than faith and certainty is a grade which is higher than piety and the
least thing having been divided among the creatures of God is
certainty”.
The second rank, is ein
alyaghin. Prophet of God (p.b.u.h.) prescribed: “everyone has two eyes on his
head and eyes of his inner personality by which he can observe the hidden world.
When God of the world intends to grant benefits to a creature, He opens the eyes
inside the man”.
Imam Sajjad (p.b.u.h.)
stated: “Indeed man has four eyes, by two of which he observes the facts related
to his religion and his world and by two others he observes his afterworld; so
if God is kind to a creature, He will two eyes in his heart; by which he can see
what is invisible.”
The third rank is hagh
alyaghin which is as interpreted by Imam Sajjad (p.b.u.h.)
the best rank, it is the stage
of taste and burning in the fire of love of Lord and it is the real connection
with Him. Hagh alyaghin is the product of the previous stages of faith and as
long as man has not taken the two previous paths, he will not gain this stage.
In Meraj narration it has
been said, God prescribed His prophet: “knowledge
will inherit faith and when a creature reaches the stage of faith and knowledge,
he will not be feared and he will spend his moments in peace or in hardness and
this state is for those who have reached the stage of satisfaction5.
Amir Almomenin (p.b.u.h.)
has drawn beautifully the face of those who believe in God and has prescribed:
“Science and knowledge suddenly looked at them with a real foresight, while they
applied the sciences by a faithful soul and what is difficult for those
free-living, will be easy for them and they will go for what the ignorant are
far from. Their bodies are among the people in this world, but their souls are
connected to what is above. They are representatives of God on the earth and
they invite the men to religion of God. Oh! How much I am eager to meet them6.”
